PhilNITS Certification Review now incorporated as one of the ICT Subjects under Advance Topics

Recently, I have attended a seminar-workshop of PhilNITS (formerly JITSE) at DMMMSU Mid-La Union Campus which was sponsored by CHED. The importance of having an internationally recognized IT certificate like the one that you can get from taking the PhilNITS exam was explained clearly. Being a certified IT professional surely increases one’s marketability in the IT job market and it also affects greatly decisions of most industries in terms of job hiring and recruitments. It is an edge and an easy way to place yourself to high paying job positions.
PhilNITS is actually a foundation that works hand in hand with the government in the pursuit of producing globally competitive IT work force that can compete with other countries like India. They coordinate with CHED and gives free training kits to the academe in order for the different IT institutions to enhance their existing curriculum in accordance to the present demands of the industries.
I was one of the participants during the seminar-workshop who were given a CD that contains the curriculum, resources, and training modules that can be used by IT educators in incorporating the PhilNITS Certification review to their classes. I then decided to teach this Certification Review as one of the ICT subjects under Advance Topics. By teaching the PhilNITS Curriculum to my students, it does not only updates their IT skills but also prepares them to take the certification exam immediately right after they graduate thus increases their chance of landing high paying IT jobs here and abroad.
